Meet new people, make new friends, learn new skills, build self-confidence and gain satisfaction by contributing to the JBER community.

JBER-Richardson volunteers are always needed and always appreciated for their time and talents. Full or part-time volunteer positions are available on My Army One Source.  After registering for the website (top right - in between "Home and Help") and being logged in, click on the Opportunity Locator  and select Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson as the Military Community. Note: You may have to Switch to OCONUS.

Email Mike Spann, Army Volunteer Corps Coordinator (AVCC) to coordinate a date/time to meet with him to understand how to use Volunteer Management Information System (VMIS) or simply to ask questions about volunteering with a US Army agency on post.

VMIS Synopsis: A hands on overview of Click Here Volunteer Information. Learn how to search and apply to volunteer opportunities on post. After being accepted by the Organizational Point of Contact (OPOC) learn how to enter your hours into VMIS which will be approved by your OPOC.

The OPOC is the local US Army unit or agency Point of Contact to manage the volunteers within their organization.  Once authorized by the AVCC as the OPOC, you will be able to create volunteer positions and post them as open or closed in VMIS, and to certify the  hours your volunteers have contributed to your organization. Click here to review the OPOC User Guide to learn how to utilize VMIS to your benefit.

When you PCS, remember to log in and update your profile by changing your "Military Community" to reflect and show the name of your new PCS station.
