Major Brian S. Rendell

Major Brian S. Rendell is the Commander, 673d Force Support Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.  He commands over 1200 military personnel, appropriated and non appropriated personnel, and contracted employees.  He manages over $15M in appropriated funds and runs a business operation that generated $30M of revenue in 2010.  Together, these funds support an operation of 35 diverse combat support and community service activities—including food service, lodging, mortuary affairs, fitness, reacreation, readiness, child care, youth activities, clubs, honor guard, human resources, and marketing—encompassing over 200 facilities and recreation areas.

The Force Support Squadron supports more than 25,000 military, civilian, family member and retiree personnel and over 100 associate units.

Prior to his current assignment, Major Rendell served as Operations Officer of the 1st Special Operations Force Support Squadron, where he provided support for America’s Air Commandos. He has held assignments at the wing, major command, and headquarters Air Force level.

Major Rendell has a Masters degree from Cornell University, and a Bachelors degree from the University of Texas at Austin.  He received his commission as a Distinguished Graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps.

He is married to the former Michele Conley of Austin, Texas and has two sons, Caleb and Ethan.
