A large Outdoor Recreation Center offers both winter and summer recreational items for a nominal fee.
You can choose from items such as fishing gear, picnic supplies, cross-country skis, camping accessories, campers, sleds, snow blowers, and ice skates.
All boat/motor rentals require customer to complete a Boating Safety Course, the certificate of completion must be brought to ODR. The course is on line at http://www.boatus.org, click on state of Alaska and print a copy of the certificate.
Canoe training is still provided at Outdoor Recreation Center.
Safety Permits are required for snow machine rentals.

If you plan on boating, fishing, hunting, off road recreational vehicles, berry picking etc. on JBER property, you must obtain the ISportsman permit at www.jber.isportsman.net or at the JBER Visitor Center. The permit is free and valid for 2 years.
Cancellations and/or changes to an existing reservation must be made at least (10) ten days prior to the scheduled reservation for a full refund. Cancellations and/or changes within 10 days will be subject to a fee equal to one days rental charge. Any and all cancellations and/or changes made within 5 days of pending reservation will forfeit all monies paid and receive no refund. The only exceptions to the cancellations policy is emergency military duty or a written doctor's note. Cancellations applied to any portion of a reservation made over a holiday weekend (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day) will result in an entire reservation being cancelled. You must wait a minimum of 24 hours before making a reservation for the exact item.
