Why Provide Sponsorship?
Both Unsolicited and Solicited Commercial Sponsorships provide public recognition for the sponsor in the form of publicity, programs, and promotional materials such as posters, banners, give-away samples (excluding alcohol and tobacco), tee markers or signs, sports uniforms (with company logo/name), place mats, calendars, napkins, score sheets, scorecards, and more. Additional exposure and recognition are possible through press releases and coverage of the events and programs involving sponsorship. All banners, signs and other advertising materials must carry a disclaimer of non-federal government endorsement.
For more information on specific sponsorship opportunities or programs, please contact the 673rd FSS Marketing and Publicity Office, 10480 22nd Street, room 104, JBER, AK 99506-2550 or call (907)552-5900 to speak with our Sponsorship representative.
Commercial Sponsorship Facts
Corporations, organizations and/or individuals can all be sponsors of FSS events. Sponsorship can be Air Force wide, in specific regions or at individual bases around the world. Commercial sponsorships enable FSS organizations to offer expanded and special programs, which might otherwise be cost prohibitive.

Gifts and Donations in the form of donated or contributed money, goods, and/or services may be accepted at any time for any of the FSS programs or activities. Such donations will not be solicited nor may the donor be granted any special privileges or public acknowledgement. Additionally, the cost of contributions for donations cannot be charged to a government contract. Property may not be accepted unless the donor relinquishes ownership rights in writing. Different levels of donations have different approval and acceptance procedures and can be explained by the Services director involved.
Unsolicited Commercial Sponsorships are initiated by the vendor with a general interest in or specific offer for a particular event or program. Procedures for sponsorships of this nature are generally short and simple.
Through Solicited Commercial Sponsorships, the FSS Squadron advertises publicly for offers of sponsorship with formal contact and procurement style procedures. Procedures of this nature are normally more detailed in nature.
