Ketchikan School Age Program
The school age program is both accredited through the NSACA National School Age Care Alliance.

The school age program has an active ASQ Accessing School Age Quality (parent team and is also involved in the PAC Parent Advisory Council.)
The school age program hours are 0630 to 0900 and 1500 to 1800 Monday through Friday.
A. School age program is closed on all Federal Holidays and Family Days when announced.

The school age program follows the school calendar for in-service days/parent teacher conferences and winter/spring break. During winter/spring break, in-service days and parent teacher conferences the program is opened for a full day from 0630 to 1800.
The school age program has a twelve week summer camp program with a variety of activities to include drill team, drama, biking, scrap booking, physical fitness activities, woodworking, arts, reading/journaling, science/computer activities, cooking club, gardening and life skills. Field trips include swimming, hiking, rock climbing, Seward Sea Life Center, Portage Glacier, Flat Top, Chuck E Cheese, Big Game Alaska, Alaska State Fair, Musk Ox Farm, Imaginarium, Reindeer Farm, Hatcher's Pass, Cold Stone Creamery, Diamond Roller Rink, Campbell Creek Science Center, Polar Bowl, H2Oasis, Thunderbird Falls, Alaska Zoo, Diamond Center Movie Theater, Ding How, Iditarod Headquarters, and Byron Glacier Hike.

The school age program has a variety of activities that the youth can be involved in to include drill team, drama club, power hour, cooking club, scrap booking club, torch club and Fitness Authority.
The program has a Power Hour program from 1630 to 1730 Monday through Thursday where youth can do homework with adult assistance. The youth can earn power points to redeem for prizes.
The program sponsors a National Event called "Lights On After School" in October of each year. The parents, staff and community are welcomed to attend the open house event and to see what the program does before and after school.
To start off Month Of The Military Child the school age program has an annual "Fashion Show" event where local stores in the area to include Wal-Mart, Sears, AAFES, and Fred Meyer help out the program in letting us borrow clothes to show off at the event. The drill team also performs at the fashion show.
