USDA Food Program

The Child Development Program, School Age Program, and Family Child Care Program all participate in the USDA Food Program. We provide nutritious meals and snacks for all children in the center during meal and snack times. Only food prepared at the center is served for meals, snacks, and special events. All parents are required to complete an application for category assessment of paid, reduced, or free meals. This form must be updated annually or as family income changes. All Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines for the preparation of balance, proportion, and taste of meals and snacks are followed, and the hospital dietitian has approved the menus. A weekly menu is posted on the parent's bulletin board. Menu changes may occur occasionally and are noted on the monthly menu. Children signed in at the center are served all prepared meals and snacks. If your child has any food allergies, it must be noted on the AF Form 1181. A dietary statement must be completed and updated annually by the program medical adviser or designee with recommended food substitutes. As an applicant in the USDA Food Program, you have legal rights to protect yourself from discrimination. The Child and Adult Care Food Program is an equal opportunity program. If you believe you or anyone has been discriminated against because of race, color, national origin, gender, age, disability, or political party, write immediately to: Administrator, Food and Customer Service U.S. Department of Agriculture 3101 Park Center Drive Alexandria, VA 22302
